Timing the Exposure for a Seascape Image at Via in Iceland

In this landscape photography vlog, I drive east of Reykjavik to Vik the South most town of Iceland. I head down to the famous Black Sand Beach and explore the drama coastline for a composition that utilises the contrast of the white breaking waves and the dark black rocks as a leading line.

The line of the cliffs served as another line for the viewer that directed their eye to the main focus of the image, the epic rocks off the coast.

The sky was cloudy and the mist started the rollin off the cliffs, this was create a wonderful mood to the image that  wanted to capture. I used a 0.9 ND Grad filter to darken down the sky with let men lift the foreground to capture the detail on the black beach.

The photography at Vik was amazing, but I also enjoyed flying the drone over the breaking waves to captures a unique perspective of the landscape.
