Tasmania is full of beautiful and unique landscapes providing amazing landscape photography opportunities from epic waterfalls, impressive mountain ranges to rugged coastlines. Andrew Dawes and I would love for you to join us on an exciting central highlands Tasmania landscape photography tour in 2020.

The workshop price is $3,280, early bird prices is $2,950. All inclusions and exclusions are listed below.
To book your spot on the tour, we require a deposit of $750. Please fill out this form and book your place.
There are limited places, so book now!
Accommodation
Quality twin share accommodation (single share available on request) will be provided throughout the tour. We will try to ensure accommodation options are reasonably close to our tour locations, however, with the limited infrastructure at some of Tasmania’s pristine, rugged interior, some options will require increased travel to photographic locations.
Clothing
Tasmanian weather is an unpredictable beast. The tours are due to run during winter, and the groups should prepare for sunny to snow and rain conditions. We will be photographing early and late in the day, so suitable warm layers are recommended. A good set of gloves, headwear and an optional face mask will make sure you’re kept comfortable. Only you know how much you feel the cold, so prepare for freezing temperatures appropriately. This also includes wet weather and hiking gear (gaters and a set of worn-in hiking boots).
Experience
Whether you’re new to digital photography or a seasoned pro, you’ll find benefits from a thoroughly planned photo tour. The guides are well-experienced landscape photographers and have years of experience travelling and photographing the area. You will be able to find everything from learning compositional techniques, optimal camera settings, gear selection through to advanced ‘shoot to edit’ planning of a landscape scene. If you’re at the advanced stage, then sit back an enjoy a well-planned tour where you can focus solely on landscape photography.
Fitness
While we won’t be running marathons, a moderate level of fitness will be required. Hikes through some of the impressive mountain/lake areas will reward clients with memorable views and photos to cherish for a lifetime. We would prefer for you to make it there with plenty of steam to enjoy the wilderness and concentrate on photography. We will also be working around waterfalls and rivers which are likely to have slippery surfaces.
Group
To ensure you get maximum value out of the tour, we have limited the tour to 8 participants. Between the two guides, you will have plenty of one-on-one time to ensure you’re achieving the most out of the workshop. Keeping the group sizes to 8 not only ensures a safe guide to client ratio but will make transport more comfortable.
Terrain
These tours will be something that you will remember for a long time as they are planned around some of the most beautiful scenery Australia has to offer. We will explore everything from hidden waterfall gems, to open plateaus, impressive mountains, deep glacial lakes and mysterious forests. The tour is exploring the rugged interior of Tasmania’s west wilderness region. This added with the magic of winter is a recipe for incredible memories.
Transportation
Tours will include transport to and from Hobart to our photographic locations. This will be in two spacious vans, ensuring plenty of comfort on board while you soak up the beautiful driving views of Tasmania’s seemly endless scenery. Allowing you to relax before photographing your next location. Driving durations are planned to not exceed 3 hours of travel times at any one time.
Weather
These tours are planned around Tasmania’s winter for a reason. The stunning beauty of this magical land during winter is indeed a fantastic experience. While we cannot guarantee weather conditions on the trip, we expect everything from sunshine to rain and hopefully plenty of snow! Some frozen waterfalls may exist (weather dependent), and if Cradle Mountain wasn’t stunning enough, it's truly magnificent with a fresh dusting of snow on the towering peaks.

What an amazing experience! It was evident that they had planned the trip meticulously and they continued to work throughout the week to make it the success that it was. Their enthusiasm and good humour was infectious and nothing was a bother. I’m inspired by them and the other participants to take the next step in my photographic journey. Many, many thanks to both Andrews

I had a brilliant five days of great photography and lots of fun visiting some of Tasmania's most scenic attractions with the two Andrews. They were wonderful hosts and instructors and never far away if you needed them. This was my first workshop and I couldn’t meet two nicer or more knowledgeable guys who genuinely wanted to transfer their knowledge to everyone. I have taken away lots of techniques and most importantly how to assess interesting and balanced compositions to use in my own photography. I would recommend this workshop to everyone.

Really glad I joined Andrew Marr and Andrew Dawes on their Tasmania tour, because they were able to help me unlock my photographic potential. The skills I learned have enabled me to see more opportunities when I’m out taking photos and to also shoot smarter, resulting in more keeper images that I can be proud of. Both teachers were professional in their organisation, approachable and willing to share their time and knowledge with us. I had a fantastic experience and would most definitely recommend it to anyone with an interest in photography.
